This post is dedicated to my sister-in-law, Kristin. Once, in high school, she got kicked out of a math class over an argument with the teacher about imaginary numbers. Apparently she didn't think they should be studying somthing that was "imaginary." I think about her every year when I cover the subject. This pic is from the white board in my 3rd block Algebra II class today. If you notice, Complex Numbers have a "real" part and an "imaginary" part.
