
That's exactly how many white winged creatures Ryan and I saw on the water as we crossed the Smithville Lake Dam this afternoon. It may not look as impressive as it sounds, but hey, that's what you get from a camera phone out a car window. It really was massive, though. Really. Like somebody from National Geographic or the BBC should have been there to capture the moment in High Definition. Actually, maybe they did. There was a really old guy in a blue suit jacket and tie standing on the side of the road with an intimidating looking camera on a tripod with a telescopic lens that was about two feet long. He probably got a better picture than I did.

Did you know that Janaury is "eagle days" at Smithville lake? If you look closely you should be able to see quite a few nesting ones there.
